Quick Query Feature in Go.edustar

May 27, 2010

Harris School Solutions is excited to announce the addition of "Quick Query" to its Go.edustar student information system. This ability provides school administrative staff the power and flexibility to view and use their data any way they wish.

The Quick Query feature allows users to select data fields from each object and use a search criterion to create either an on-screen view or an attractive report. Reports can be exported and saved to a PDF document, HTML, or to an Excel spreadsheet for further manipulation.

"Customers will get a lot of mileage from Quick Query," said Scott Schollenberger, Harris vice president of research and development. "They have a powerful tool to select, view, and present student data in a variety of forms. It empowers them to make full use of their data and lessen their dependence on others to extract what they need on a timely basis."

The complexities of the database schema are hidden from the end users of Quick Query. SQL views and Quick Query metadata provide simple objects that the end user can utilize to build their queries. Queries that involve elaborate selections, criteria, and sort options can be saved for future use, and can be designated as either a public or private query within their organization.
